BIO
Shonette Williams is an Engineer and a proud resident of the great state of Maryland. As a child, she did not see enough representation of beautiful black children. She decided to write about people and things that are different, in an effort to celebrate them.
"A Letter To My People" articles encourage us all to adjust our outlook; not only for ourselves but for those watching.
My first book is entitled, Parker's Perfect Pink Poinsettia". Parker Brown is a beautiful African-American 6 year-old girl, who learns how to appreciate beauty. Her “Perfect Pink Poinsettia” represents the way people see one another and other things. I hope this book will be both entertaining as well as a simple way to look at a big challenge in society.

Purpose
Navigating through life can be challenging for children and adults alike. Self-esteem, unwanted opinions, etc. can distract you from your destiny. Self-esteem begins at a young age and my books are meant to encourage positivity in children. Alysia Publishing includes books and articles to encourage us all.
